New Letters

Mon. Feb. 05, 2007 - 7:15 in the A.M.

If you'd been here I'd tried my best to delicately untangle my arm from around you. I'd wake you gently as I got up and give you a kiss to try to keep you from talking. After dressing in the dark, I'd hang a towel in the doorway to the kitchen to keep the lone 100-watt bulb from bothering you. I'd move pans lightly and silently, cooking quickly and efficiently in order to give you the maximum amount of time to wake, eat, and enjoy the small morning. Once ready, I'd slip under the doorway towel with food in hand and bend down to wake you with a tiny kiss and a little whisper.

Sincerely,
